Hello Miller Families,

Welcome to the 2023 -2024 school year! I hope you had a fun and relaxing summer break.  Our staff is prepared and ready to engage our students in meaningful learning experiences, ensure success, and move them to the next level in their education. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. I am delighted that you are part of our amazing and prideful Miller Maverick family. We know that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.

This year, I encourage you to rally around the theme, “LEVEL UP” (Leading with Expectations, Values, Equity, and Learning). We are proud of our school and have high expectations for every student to ensure their academic success and prepare them for the future. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. Our Miller core values, “Actively Embracing Diversity, Encouraging and Inspiring, Being Accountable, and Practicing Kindness and Respect” will continue to guide our mission to provide an inclusive learning community where students realize their full potential through quality and equitable opportunities. Our overarching goal is to encourage active student engagement to foster a lifetime love for learning.

We are excited to announce the planned establishment of a SPARK Park on campus this fall. A SPARK Park committee involving parents, staff, and SPARK Park representatives has been established to develop park priorities and fundraise. SPARK has assigned a landscape architect, who with the involvement of students will create a public art component. A dedication event will be hosted to celebrate the “new” SPARK Park which will be open to the public after school, on weekends and holidays. Miller Intermediate is excited to participate in this venture, which will greatly benefit to our students and the community. We appreciate the efforts of the SPARK School Park program and look forward to the establishment of our new SPARK Park on campus.

Please be reminded that all students are required to be in uniform (dress code) daily; click here to access Miller’s dress code. We also continue to emphasize the importance of safety during arrival and dismissal. We highly encourage that students begin the first day of school with the mode of transportation they will utilize throughout the year. We ask for your patience as we proceed with arrival and dismissal procedures during these first few days of school. The first week is usually hectic, but it does get better as our students learn the procedures.

Please take time to prepare your child for school to meet our Maverick expectations, so they will be ready to learn. Our website is updated with very important beginning of school information such as school hours, school supply lists, dress code requirements and the student handbook so please check frequently. The following are a few dates to remember.

Monday, August 7th – “Meet the Teacher” from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, August 9th – First Day of School

Thursday, September 14th – Open House
