Dear Miller Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope everyone has recovered from the effects of Hurricane Beryl and took some time to relax and rejuvenate. I am very excited to welcome all our new and returning Miller Mavericks to campus as we prepare for another amazing school year with students realizing their full potential through quality and equitable opportunities. Despite any adversity, we may continue to experience, our Miller Maverick community stands resolute in supporting and caring for each other. Our continued commitment to ensuring equitable growth and increasing the academic achievement of our students remains our top priority.
Our school’s theme this year is “RESET – Ready to Educate Students Everyday Together”. Miller teachers and staff are well prepared and ready to meet the diverse needs of our students and ensure their success. I ask that you collaborate with us to promote the best learning experience for your child this school year. We know a strong partnership with you will make a tremendous difference in your child’s education.
Our school library is currently under renovation and is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of the school year in August. Our beautifully redesigned library will boast state-of-the-art services and we are delighted for the new opportunities this will bring to our students and staff, especially the ability of our librarian to continue to nurture and increase our student’s love of reading
Our campus is a safe learning environment for all. We have much appreciation for our custodians as they worked hard over the summer to thoroughly clean and sanitize the building in preparation for the first day of school, August 12. As a reminder, all students are required to be in uniform (dress code) daily; click here to access Miller’s dress code. We highly recommend, that students begin the first day of school with the mode of transportation they will utilize throughout the year. We also continue to emphasize the importance of safety during arrival and dismissal. We are kindly asking parents and guardians of our students who will be car riders to please stay in their cars and remain in the car rider line during the dismissal process. Car rider dismissal will progress much faster if everyone works together and follows the dismissal procedures we have in place. We ask that you be patient with us during the first week of school since this will be a new arrival and dismissal experience for many of our Miller students and parents.
Please take time to prepare your child for school and to meet our Miller Maverick expectations, so they will be ready to learn. Our campus website has very important beginning-of-school information such as school hours, school supply lists, and dress code requirements so please check frequently. The following are a few dates to remember.
Thursday, August 8th - “Meet the Teacher” from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Monday, August 12th – First Day of School
Thursday, September 12th – Open House (Parent Night)
